The Project
Minoru Manifesto invites participants of all ages, backgrounds, and levels of artistic experience to explore what they carry and what they claim. Artist Julie Hammond will hold a series of interactive events that play with the overlap between the manifest—the list of goods carried in cargo—and the manifesto—a public declaration of belief.
Working in and around the historic Minoru Chapel, participants will investigate and share the ideas, objects, places, and people that make Richmond special to them. The accumulation of individual perspectives, gathered memories, and historical research will form the basis for a community performance September 28-29, 2019 as part of Richmond Culture Days. Expect pop-up activities, sense walking, story telling, and community noise making.
